WORKSHOP 1:

REGIONAL ENERGY SUPPLY CONCEPTS OF THE FUTURE - ENERGY MODELL REGIONS PUSHING REAL LIFE DEMONSTRATION AND USER INTEGRATION


Energy Modell Regions like the Green Energy Lab (Austria) or regions from the “Schaufenster Energie” in Germany are bringing together multiple Stakeholders including end-users and lead open innovation processes to develop and demonstrate model solutions for intelligent, safe and affordable energy and systems based on innovative energy technologies. This with the overall goal of pathing the way to a sustainable energy future.

 

The aim of this workshop is to learn about the Austrian Energy Modell Region Green Energy Lab and a German “Schaufenster Energie” Region. Other stakeholders active in Energy Modell Regions present in the Workshop can bring in their views and experiences. Questions will be, how to bring energy innovation projects successful onto the market, how the role of different stakeholders within such regions can be strengthened and how these regions can develop themselves to be even stronger enablers for effective projects and a sustainable energy future.

 

WORKSHOP 2:

SMART DISTRICT DEVELOPMENT IN THE CONTEXT OF CURRENT URBAN DEVELOPMENT REQUIREMENTS


How do you build a smart, sustainable, socially responsible, CO2-neutral urban area? How can these areas be developed with the involvement of all stakeholders, such as the city administration, housing associations, energy suppliers and local residents?

 

Many questions have to be answered for sustainable urban development, but these have already been asked by various organisations. In 2018, the initiative of the German Economic Council "Energy Lab 2030" formulated measures for a market-based target model on the basis of a digital real-time energy economy, also regarding urban area development. The Association of Berlin-Brandenburg Housing Companies has developed a guideline on how climate protection goals can be achieved in urban area construction. And there are internationally oriented research projects whose results can be adapted to practical applications in urban area development.

 

Take advantage of these opportunities and bring your urban development projects to discussion during the workshop. Benefit from the expertise of the experts present and develop a practical strategy for the coming months and years.

 

WORKSHOP 3:

HYDROGEN - TECHNOLOGIES FOR DECENTRALISED ENERGY STORAGE AND SUPPLY


Technologies for the production and storage of hydrogen are available but must become more efficient and flexible across the entire performance range. The same applies to all conversion technologies. Other key objectives are to keep the costs of converting, storing and using hydrogen low and to develop new business models in this area.

 

The aim of the workshop is to exchange views on these important topics and to explore possibilities for concrete implementation projects. To achieve this, existing approaches in the areas of intelligent energy storage technologies in energy self-sufficient settlements, intrinsically safe electronic pressure control devices for hydrogen and the recycling of hydrogen from waste streams can be built upon.

 

WORKSHOP 4:

ACTIVE FACADES AND WINDOWS AND PHASE-CHANCE HEATERS FOR EFFICIENT SOLAR ENERGY AND AMBIENT HEAT HARVESTING


New window and facade elements allow for adaptive harvesting of environmental heat and solar energy, heat transport and distribution across the building, indoor cooling, indoor hydronic cooling, shading and adaptive facade coloration. This makes the outer shell an active part of the building and enables organic exchange between the building's interior and its surroundings. Low-cost and ecologically sustainable building air-conditioning is possible.
